As a child on the autism spectrum, he has taught us to slow down, notice the little things, and find joy in moments we might otherwise miss.
From Pokémon and LEGO to swimming, biking, and warm cuddles, Miles finds happiness in his own way. Sometimes the world can feel too loud or overwhelming, but with patience, understanding, and support, he continues to learn, grow, and surprise us.
Smiley Milesy began with our son, but it has become a place to share our family's journey—the challenges, the little victories, and the joy of seeing the world through Miles' eyes. This is Miles being Miles. 💙
Hi, I’m Rex—Miles’ dad and the author of Smiley Milesy’s Colors of Joy.
This little book started from our everyday life with Miles—the bedtime stories, the questions, the challenges, the laughter, and those small moments that somehow become the ones you remember most.
As parents, my wife and I wanted to create something for Miles, but along the way, it became something we wanted to share with other families raising a child on the spectrum too.
We know there are hard days. We also know there are little victories that may seem small to others but mean everything to us.
Colors of Joy was the beginning of Smiley Milesy. The book is now sold out, and I’m incredibly thankful to everyone who became part of that first chapter.
But Miles’ story isn’t finished.
I’m currently working on his next book and continuing to share our journey—the good days, the difficult ones, and everything in between.
